Questions
Common questions
Do you work with clients in Italy remotely?
Yes. I am based in Albania and work remotely across every market on this site. The practical constraint worth checking before scoping anything time-sensitive is working-hour overlap, not capability.
What language should a brand use in Italy?
Italian, essentially without exception for consumer work. English is common in fashion, design and among younger professionals in Milan, but a brand speaking to Italian consumers in English signals distance. Italian audiences are also more receptive to aesthetic and emotional register than to feature-led argument.
What advertising rules apply in Italy?
The AGCM (Autorità Garante della Concorrenza e del Mercato) enforces consumer law, and the IAP (Istituto dell’Autodisciplina Pubblicitaria) administers the Codice di Autodisciplina della Comunicazione Commerciale — a self-regulatory code that is genuinely enforced and moves faster than statutory process. The IAP has issued specific guidance on influencer disclosure, and the AGCM has pursued high-profile cases on misleading promotional communications.
How does invoicing work for a client in Italy?
Italy requires electronic invoicing through the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) for domestic transactions, using structured XML rather than PDF — one of the strictest regimes in the EU. Cross-border B2B still runs on the standard reverse charge, but any locally invoiced work has to go through SdI, and the client’s codice destinatario or PEC address is needed before the first invoice can be issued. For B2B services sold cross-border inside the EU the reverse charge applies (Article 44 of the VAT Directive): the invoice is issued without VAT and the client self-accounts for it under their own VAT number. A valid VIES-registered VAT number on both sides is what makes that work, so it gets confirmed before the engagement starts rather than at invoicing.
Which platforms should a brand in Italy prioritise?
Instagram is dominant and Italy has one of Europe’s most developed influencer economies, particularly in fashion, food, interiors and beauty. Facebook retains strong reach outside major cities. TikTok is growing rapidly. LinkedIn is meaningful in Milan for B2B and professional services but thin elsewhere.
How much does brand work for a Italian business cost?
Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.
