Social Media Strategy

Posting without a strategy is noise. Social Media Strategy translates your brand into a platform-specific plan that connects every content decision to a clear business outcome.

Who this is for

Brands ready to stop guessing and start growing with intention — typically those already publishing consistently but unable to explain why any given post exists.

What's included

  • Platform audit and channel selection strategy
  • Content pillars and editorial framework
  • Audience growth and engagement strategy
  • Competitive landscape analysis
  • Content calendar structure and posting cadence
  • KPI setting and measurement framework

Monthly performance review against the KPIs set in strategy.

Story and vertical formats — reach without permanence.

How the engagement works

Social Media Strategy is a defined project, typically four to six weeks. It starts with a platform audit — what you are publishing, what is actually performing, and which channels are earning their keep. Competitive analysis looks at how the category behaves so your positioning has somewhere to stand rather than repeating what everyone else says. From there the strategy defines content pillars, the editorial framework, cadence and the measurement model. The deliverable is a document your team or I can execute against, not a deck that describes principles in the abstract.

What you provide: access to existing analytics, clarity on internal capacity, and honesty about what your team can sustain. What happens afterwards: some clients execute the strategy themselves, some move to Social Media Management. Both are fine, and which one is right depends on capacity rather than budget.

Where this goes wrong

Strategies fail when they are built for every platform at once. A plan that spreads a small team across five channels produces five weak presences. Channel selection is a subtraction exercise before it is an addition one.

What I won't take on

I do not build strategies around follower-count targets, and I do not plan for platforms a business has no capacity to sustain after the engagement ends.

How pricing works

Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.

The Process

Every engagement runs through the same four stages, whichever service it starts with.

01

Discovery

Deep dive into your brand, audience, competitors, and goals to build a strategic foundation.

02

Strategy

Craft a tailored brand and social media blueprint aligned with your vision and market position.

03

Execute

Bring the strategy to life with compelling content, consistent branding, and active engagement.

04

Optimise

Continuously measure, refine, and scale what works to maximise your brand's impact.

Common questions

Is this different from Social Media Management?

Yes. Strategy is a defined project that produces the plan. Management is the ongoing execution of it. You can buy the strategy and run it yourself, and some clients should.

Which platforms will you recommend?

I do not know until the audit. Channel selection is a subtraction exercise — the point is usually to do fewer platforms properly rather than more badly.

Do you guarantee follower growth?

No, and I would be cautious of anyone who does. The strategy sets measurable objectives tied to business outcomes, which is a different thing from promising a number.

What if the audit says our current channels are wrong?

Then I will say so, and that is often the most valuable part of the project. Telling a client to stop publishing on a platform they have invested in is uncomfortable, but continuing to spread a small team thinly across five channels costs more than the conversation does.
