Questions
Common questions
Which channels work best for personal brands & coaches?
LinkedIn for professional and executive audiences, Instagram for reach and personality, YouTube and podcasts for depth and trust, and email for the audience you actually own rather than rent.
What content actually converts in this sector?
A consistent and specific point of view, client outcomes where consent permits, teaching content that gives real value away, and personal narrative used deliberately rather than confessionally.
What are the regulatory risks?
Income and outcome claims are heavily enforced in the coaching sector and are the fastest route to regulatory trouble. Testimonials must be genuine and typical. Building only on rented platforms leaves the business exposed to a single algorithm change.
What should we be measuring?
Owned audience growth, enquiry quality and conversion to paid engagement.
Where would you start with a personal brands & coaches client?
I start with positioning, and it is usually uncomfortable — narrowing to something specific and defensible rather than broadly appealing. This is the closest sector to the work I do most, and the narrowing is always the hard part.
