Questions
Common questions
Do you work with clients in Slovakia remotely?
Yes. I am based in Albania and work remotely across every market on this site. The practical constraint worth checking before scoping anything time-sensitive is working-hour overlap, not capability.
What language should a brand use in Slovakia?
Slovak, mutually intelligible with Czech. Czech content is generally understood, but Slovak audiences notice when a brand does not bother to localise, and it reads as treating the country as an afterthought. Hungarian is spoken by a significant minority in the south.
What advertising rules apply in Slovakia?
Consumer protection is enforced by the Slovak Trade Inspection under the consumer protection act, with advertising self-regulation through the Rada pre reklamu and its ethical code.
How does invoicing work for a client in Slovakia?
Standard EU reverse charge for B2B, in euro — Slovakia is in the eurozone, which makes it administratively simpler than Czechia despite the markets otherwise behaving similarly. For B2B services sold cross-border inside the EU the reverse charge applies (Article 44 of the VAT Directive): the invoice is issued without VAT and the client self-accounts for it under their own VAT number. A valid VIES-registered VAT number on both sides is what makes that work, so it gets confirmed before the engagement starts rather than at invoicing.
Which platforms should a brand in Slovakia prioritise?
Facebook and Instagram lead, with TikTok growing quickly. YouTube is strong. LinkedIn is limited outside Bratislava. The domestic creator economy is small, and Czech creators frequently reach Slovak audiences directly.
How much does brand work for a Slovak business cost?
Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.
