Questions
Common questions
Do you work with clients in Latvia remotely?
Yes. I am based in Albania and work remotely across every market on this site. The practical constraint worth checking before scoping anything time-sensitive is working-hour overlap, not capability.
What language should a brand use in Latvia?
Latvian, a Baltic language related to Lithuanian but not mutually intelligible with it, and unrelated to Estonian. Russian is spoken by a large minority and Riga is substantially bilingual, which makes language choice a live commercial and political decision rather than a neutral one. English is strong among younger professionals.
What advertising rules apply in Latvia?
The Advertising Law governs advertising, with the Consumer Rights Protection Centre (PTAC) enforcing consumer protection and acting on misleading commercial practices.
How does invoicing work for a client in Latvia?
Standard EU reverse charge for B2B, in euro. Administrative requirements are straightforward and largely digital. For B2B services sold cross-border inside the EU the reverse charge applies (Article 44 of the VAT Directive): the invoice is issued without VAT and the client self-accounts for it under their own VAT number. A valid VIES-registered VAT number on both sides is what makes that work, so it gets confirmed before the engagement starts rather than at invoicing.
Which platforms should a brand in Latvia prioritise?
Facebook and Instagram lead, with strong YouTube use. TikTok is growing. Draugiem, the historic domestic network, has largely faded. LinkedIn is modest and concentrated in Riga.
How much does brand work for a Latvian business cost?
Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.
