Questions
Common questions
Do you work with clients in France remotely?
Yes. I am based in Albania and work remotely across every market on this site. The practical constraint worth checking before scoping anything time-sensitive is working-hour overlap, not capability.
What language should a brand use in France?
French, and this is a legal matter rather than a preference. The Loi Toubon requires French in advertising and commercial communications aimed at the French public; foreign-language slogans generally need a French translation of equivalent prominence. Translating a campaign after it is built is expensive — the constraint belongs in the brief.
What advertising rules apply in France?
The ARPP (Autorité de Régulation Professionnelle de la Publicité) runs self-regulation, with the DGCCRF enforcing consumer law. France went further than any other member state on creator marketing with its 2023 law on commercial influence, which defines influencer status, mandates clear labelling of paid and retouched content, and restricts promotion of certain sectors outright. Contracts with French creators have statutory content requirements.
How does invoicing work for a client in France?
Standard EU reverse charge for B2B. France is phasing in mandatory electronic invoicing for domestic transactions through approved platforms, which affects any locally established entity — worth confirming with the client’s accountant when contracting through a French subsidiary rather than cross-border. For B2B services sold cross-border inside the EU the reverse charge applies (Article 44 of the VAT Directive): the invoice is issued without VAT and the client self-accounts for it under their own VAT number. A valid VIES-registered VAT number on both sides is what makes that work, so it gets confirmed before the engagement starts rather than at invoicing.
Which platforms should a brand in France prioritise?
Instagram and TikTok lead consumer reach; TikTok is exceptionally strong in France relative to European averages. LinkedIn is solid for B2B. YouTube is a major long-form channel. French audiences engage well with editorial and idea-led content and poorly with formats that read as imported American marketing.
How much does brand work for a French business cost?
Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.
