Questions
Common questions
Do you work with clients in Croatia remotely?
Yes. I am based in Albania and work remotely across every market on this site. The practical constraint worth checking before scoping anything time-sensitive is working-hour overlap, not capability.
What language should a brand use in Croatia?
Croatian. Mutually intelligible with Serbian, Bosnian and Montenegrin, but the distinctions are politically and culturally significant and treating them as one market in copy is a mistake. English and German are widely spoken in tourism and along the coast; Italian on the Istrian coast.
What advertising rules apply in Croatia?
Consumer protection sits under the Zakon o zaštiti potrošača, enforced by the State Inspectorate, with advertising self-regulation through the Croatian Association of Communications Agencies code. Tourism and hospitality claims receive particular attention given the sector’s dominance.
How does invoicing work for a client in Croatia?
Standard EU reverse charge for B2B. Croatia adopted the euro in 2023, which removed the previous kuna currency question entirely and simplified contracting considerably. For B2B services sold cross-border inside the EU the reverse charge applies (Article 44 of the VAT Directive): the invoice is issued without VAT and the client self-accounts for it under their own VAT number. A valid VIES-registered VAT number on both sides is what makes that work, so it gets confirmed before the engagement starts rather than at invoicing.
Which platforms should a brand in Croatia prioritise?
Facebook and Instagram lead, with Instagram especially strong in tourism, hospitality and lifestyle. TikTok is growing. Viber and WhatsApp both matter for messaging. YouTube is well established.
How much does brand work for a Croatian business cost?
Every engagement is scoped individually, because the work depends on where a brand already is rather than on a package tier. Pricing is agreed in writing before anything starts, and I will tell you if what you need is smaller than what you asked for.
