Questions
Common questions
Which channels work best for professional consulting?
LinkedIn is the primary channel by a wide margin. Speaking, podcasts and published writing build authority. Referral and network remain the largest source of work and can be deliberately cultivated.
What content actually converts in this sector?
Specific, opinionated analysis of problems the audience actually has. Frameworks and methodology that demonstrate how you think. Case evidence where confidentiality permits. Vagueness is the category’s dominant failure.
What are the regulatory risks?
Client confidentiality restricts most case detail — agree what is publishable at contract stage. Overclaiming results damages credibility with a sophisticated audience faster than in any other sector.
What should we be measuring?
Inbound enquiry quality and average engagement value. A smaller number of better-fit conversations is the goal.
Where would you start with a professional consulting client?
I start by finding what the consultant actually believes that others in the field do not. Without that there is no positioning, and no amount of publishing frequency compensates.
